As requested, Delegate Karen Young's office provided a draft of the Student Member of the Board partial voting rights bill for the Boards review.  

Board members offered feedback on the draft during their January 11, 2017 Board meeting.  There was consensus of Board members that they needed some additional time to discuss prior to submitting a revision to Delegate Young.

Goals

PURPOSE OF PRESENTATION:  Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) staff will review their fiscal year 2018 departmental budgets with the Board of Education of Frederick County (BOE). 

 

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:  Budget discussions with individual divisions and departments of FCPS will be reviewed at this scheduled budget work session from 9:30 - 2:45.  Attached you will find a detailed agenda and a summary by budget centers.

 

The BOE is scheduled to approve a proposed budget at the January 25, 2017 Board meeting to take to the February public hearing.  The BOE public hearing on the operating budget is scheduled for Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Oakdale High School.
